THE ART OF TRUST
NOTE: This short wasn’t inspired by a prompt. However, it was written for university, thus it’s old so I’m archiving it here.
The Art of Trust is from an adaptation exercise, where I adapted Dashiell Hammett’s House in Turk Street. If I’m being entirely honest, I don’t remember exactly what Turk Street is about — but my adaptation is really good. Set (and written) in 2019, it follows Xenna, a New Orleans undercover cop (following the form of Hammett’s Continental Op), who assists a small team in an art heist at New Orleans Auction Galleries. The heist goes awry when an erratic crewmember discovers that Xenna is an undercover cop.
