I was a Story Editor on Kelly Fyffe-Marshall’s When Morning Comes (2022)—yes, baby’s first feature-length credit (it’s me, I’m “baby”). Directed and written by Fyffe-Marshall, this tender coming-of-age story follows nine-year-old Jamal (Djamari Roberts), who has to come to terms with leaving his mother Neesha (Shaquana Wilson), best friend Deshane (Jarden Crooks) and life behind in Jamaica after Neesha decides to send him to live with his grandmother in Canada. Produced by Tamar Bird, Iva Golubovic, and Sasha Leigh Henry. Cinematography by Jordan Oram.

When Morning Comes had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2022.
